Records // Principles

Happy Friday!  Welcome to the Iron Made Gym Newsletter.  Our goal with this production is to share information with our unique community that will help you reach your goals.

This was an exciting week for the record board!  Joe Scrim bested his own deadlift record and hit 615 POUNDS!  He is the first person at Iron Made Gym to place a 600 pound number on the board.  Congratulations Joe.

We also have a heated high school squat max competition going on between Austin from Springfield and Ethan from Mohawk.  These gentlemen have been going back and forth for two weeks now.  It is wonderful seeing healthy competition between young men.  The current record stands at 365 pounds.

As I finish the book Principles by Ray Dalio, one paragraph really stuck out to me.  “Don’t undermine your progress in pursuit of a pat on the back; celebrate finding out what is not going well so you can make it go better.  Thinking about problems that are difficult to solve may make you anxious, but not thinking about them (and therefore not dealing with them) should make you even more anxious.”

Take time to evaluate when you are failing instead of seeking praise for where you are succeeding, in the weight room and in life.

We are committed to offering free personal training sessions two times a week, and we promote these via our social media platforms.

Until next time Iron Made Community.

“The most effective leaders work to 1) open mindedly seek out the best answers and 2) bring others along as part of that discovery process.  That is how learning and getting in sync occurs.”  – Ray Dalio
