New Exercises

Happy Friday!  Welcome to the Iron Made Gym Newsletter.  Our goal with this production is to share information with our unique community that will help you reach your goals.

Perhaps you do not follow us on any social media platforms, I would like to take a moment and show you some exercise variations that you can add to your arsenal.

Safety bar banded good morning + 1 pin pull deadlift:
with this exercise it is important to focus on the hip hinge that is key to the good morning exercise.  I liked adding the band because it assured to safety bar will stay racked on your back for the duration of the exercise.  Perform this exercise only if you are an experienced lifter and have a have a good understanding of both exercises.

Standing hamstring curl:
This exercise can be done on our new prone hamstring curl machine.  We have found it important to keep your kneecap bellow the pad and during the motion keeping your thigh pressed against the pad.

Farmer walks:
This exercise does it all:  grip strength, full body conditioning, and a great finisher or warm up for any training day.  With these bars, regular clips will not work so we simply use a band to keep everything on.

Hip/Glute walks:
This one we got from Donnie Thompson.  It ignites the glutes and hip flexors.  Vince and I added a band to help keep our legs straight.  We also added a ball toss to make it harder, I would not recommend adding it.  Great finisher/warm up exercise.

I hope you found these to be beneficial!

“Integrity is not what you appear to be when all eyes are on you.  It’s who you are when no one is looking.  It’s a level of morality below which you never fall, no matter what’s happening around you.  It’s a high standard of honesty, truthfulness, decency, and honor that is never breached.  It’s doing for others the way you would want them to do for you.”  – The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian
