Adapting to Stressors

Happy Friday!  Welcome to the Iron Made Gym Newsletter.  Our goal with this production is to share information with our unique community that will help you reach your goals.
Today let’s hit the topic of a “stressor” in weight training.  We can break this into two segments you should be challenged, mentally and physically.  The human body is the ultimate adaptation machine, that being said, it is imperative to change the stressor continually to increase training capacity.  So what does this look like?  I will give an example from my own training.  On my max effort lower body day this week I used safety bar single leg squats as my main exercise for the following: 2 sets of 5, 5 sets of 3, and 8 sets of 1 with 45 second rest time.  This accomplished two things:  it introduced a new stressor to my routine which I will run for two weeks and cycle out upon beating my previous max, and it showed a weak point in my training (I am still sore from this on Monday!).  Try implementing this strategy for each day of training and see what happens.
